Support & FAQ
Answers for the current Academy study pilot, plus the right way to report a bug or send classroom feedback.
Pilot support status
Local-first build · no live backendThere is no ticket queue, live chat, purchase support, or school licensing desk during first-user testing. The Academy runs as a static browser build, so most questions are answered by the study guide and the FAQ below.
Reporting a bug
Include the tier, study material, device/browser, and the steps that led to the issue. Please do not include student names, email addresses, or other personal data. Screenshots of the study screen are enough.
- For gameplay or layout issues, describe what you expected and what happened.
- For two-consecutive-miss resets, note whether the old question stayed on screen or the run restarted.
- For offline/PWA issues, mention whether the app had loaded successfully before going offline.
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I try in the Academy pilot today?
The current Academy build is a ten-problem study session. Choose a tier and a study material, then answer each question by tapping or using keys 1–4. A correct answer builds the bridge to the next marker. At the end of the run, the in-stage report shows score, accuracy, and time left.
Are classroom accounts, room codes, or teacher dashboards available?
Not yet. The pilot is local-first and has no classroom server. Room codes, student rosters, live dashboards, CSV exports, and SSO are intentionally disabled until first-user testing is complete.
Does the Academy send student data anywhere?
No. The pilot stores progress, settings, difficulty, and study material in the browser's local storage on the device. There is no account, API write, classroom server, ad tracker, or leaderboard submission in this build.
What is the difference between Arcade and Academy?
Spanbound Arcade is the unchanged reflex game: hold, release, and land the bridge across the 26-realm world. Spanbound Academy uses the same crossing engine, but every span asks a study question and the answer builds the bridge.
Is there a paid version, Supporter Pass, or checkout?
No. Payments, pricing, checkout, subscriptions, and school licenses are disabled during the pilot. The website has no purchase flow while the Academy is being tested with first users.
Does Academy need an internet connection?
After the first successful load, the production PWA precaches the shell and game assets so the app can be reopened offline. Local progress stays on the same browser origin; clearing site data resets it.
Where is Academy progress stored?
Best score, difficulty, settings, and the selected study material use local storage keys under the existing sticky-game-two prefix. The selected material key is sticky-game-two-study-focus-v1. No remote database is involved.
Can a school try the pilot on its own network?
Yes. Academy builds to a static dist folder and can be served from any static host. The first-user testing phase needs no API URL, database, secrets, or payment provider. Keep testers on one origin so their local progress remains available.
